Stream Together — Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy
Effective 19 September 2026. This is the end-user licence agreement ("EULA") for the Stream Together iOS app, distributed for beta testing via TestFlight.

By installing or using Stream Together you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install it.
1. This is beta software
Stream Together is an unfinished app distributed for testing. It is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. It may lose data, fail to play video, or stop working entirely. Do not rely on it for anything that matters.
The social features have never been tested between two devices before this release. You are, in the literal sense, the test.
2. Licence
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use one copy of Stream Together on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, for as long as you remain an authorised tester.
You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app; modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that restriction is unenforceable under law that applies to you; or remove any proprietary notice from it.
3. You need your own subscriptions
Stream Together does not supply, host, stream, rebroadcast, record or redistribute any film or television programme, and it contains no video content of its own.
To watch anything you must have your own valid, paid account with Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. Everyone in a watch party streams independently, from their own account, directly from that provider. The app synchronises a playback position, a play/pause flag and text messages between devices. No audio or video ever passes between users.
Your use of Netflix or Prime Video is governed by your agreement with them, not by this one. You are responsible for complying with those terms, including any restrictions they place on how and where you watch. Nothing here grants you any right in their content.
4. Acceptable use
These rules apply to everything you write or choose inside the app — chat messages, your display name, your handle, and room names.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour.
You must not post, send or choose as a name anything that:
- harasses, bullies, stalks, threatens or intimidates another person;
- is hateful, or attacks or demeans a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation;
- is sexually explicit, obscene, or sexualises a minor in any way;
- depicts, promotes or incites violence, self-harm or an illegal act;
- is defamatory, or knowingly false in a way that damages someone;
- impersonates another person, or impersonates Stream Together, its staff or any system message;
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- discloses another person's private information without their consent;
- is spam, a scam, a phishing attempt, or bulk unsolicited messaging;
- contains malware, or attempts to attack, overload or gain unauthorised access to the app, CloudKit, or any other user's device or account.
You must also not:
- use the app to circumvent, disable or interfere with any digital rights management, access control or geographic restriction operated by a content provider;
- attempt to capture, extract, record, proxy or redistribute any stream, any stream URL, or any decryption key;
- share your provider account credentials with anyone through this app;
- use the app if you are under the age shown on its App Store listing;
- use automated means to access, scrape or enumerate the CloudKit container or other users' records.
5. Your content, and what happens to it
You keep ownership of what you write. You grant the operator of Stream Together a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and transmit it, solely in order to run the app — showing your message to others in your room, showing your handle to someone searching for you, and so on. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies retained in reports.
Understand where it goes. Your messages and profile are stored in a public CloudKit database and are readable by other users of the app and by the developer. See the Privacy Policy. Do not write anything in this app that you would mind a stranger reading.
You are solely responsible for what you post. The operator does not endorse, and is not responsible for, content posted by users.
6. Reporting, blocking, and enforcement
The app gives you two tools, both reachable from a person's profile, a room's participant list, and any chat message:
- Block — stops that person reaching you. It takes effect immediately, and it applies inside rooms and chat, not just in lists.
- Report — sends the message or profile complained about, with a reason, for review.
Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours. Content found to breach section 4 is removed. Accounts responsible are ejected from rooms and, for serious or repeated breaches, barred from the service. There is no appeal process during the beta; write to [email protected] and it will be read.
Public rooms are disabled in this release. Chat is only possible between people who have accepted each other as friends, or who have accepted an invitation to a room. You are never placed in a room with a stranger.
7. Suspension and termination
Access may be withdrawn at any time, with or without notice, for breach of these terms or for any other reason — this is a beta programme, not a service you have bought. You may stop at any time by deleting the app; to delete your data as well, see the Privacy Policy.
8. No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stream Together is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of Stream Together is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or content, arising from your use of the app. Total aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the app (which is nothing) or USD 10.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Apple
This agreement is between you and the operator of Stream Together, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for it. In the event the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund any purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability, regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims, nor for the investigation, defence, settlement or discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claim.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and have the right to enforce it against you.
11. Changes
These terms may change. Material changes are announced through TestFlight release notes, and the effective date above is updated. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
